There are many ideas, emotions, feelings, sensations and images which occur involuntarily inside anyone’s mind while going through different stages of sleep. These emotions or sensations form in such a way inside our mind that we experience and look at images in our subconscious mind. These forms are called dreams. However, the purpose and intention behind the appearance of dreams is not yet clear and this has been a subject of scientific interest and also of philosophical and religious speculations, as recorded long over the history. Oneirology is the study of shared dreams.

The process of documenting or going through discussion about night and day dreaming stages is actually called sharing of dreams and the main purpose of this phenomenon is said to be dream interpretation. Dreams in themselves have been proved to be quite fascinating. A few things that everyone has wondered over the years, like when anyone sleeps and when anyone dreams? When others sleep and dream, do they enter each other’s dreams and both experience the same dream? Do people gain access to each other’s dreams through some kind of dream portal?

Shared dreaming, dream linking and mutual dreaming are just different terms for the same phenomenon, preferably lucid, when in sleeping state. The main reason behind the Crossroads existence is to find out if it possible in the remotest possible conditions to meet up with some other lucid dreamers in a lucid dream and also astral projectors who turn out to be lucid. In fact, this can be and have been considered as an experiment with shared dreaming or lucid dreaming. The lucid dreamers know it quite well that lucidity is one of the most wonderful and amazing experiences that one can have in his or her life. But it is a whole another fact that by its very nature itself, it is a solitary experience. People have been known to report of dreaming about some nightmares and their near and dear ones coming and waking them up and talking about the nightmares that they saw a few minutes ago. In some dreams, people even meet up with each other and talk about important things and things that had been left unsaid. Some consider it as coincidence while some say it is unexplainable science and paranormal sleeping behind it.
